Although PowerShell was introduced in SharePoint 2010 as a replacement of its native administration tools, only SharePoint 2013 is fully opening the potential to administrate the system using the common command line tool for all Windows based servers. PowerShell for SharePoint allows not only to administrate the portal using its more than 750 native cmdlets, but it also lets create new ones using Visual Studio, the Microsoft development environment. In this session we will examine the use of PowerShell for installing, configuring and managing a SharePoint environment; how we can use it for the normal day-to-day maintenance tasks; and, finally, how we can extend PowerShell to cover functionality that is not present by default.
You will learn :
- The Power that PowerShell provides to SharePoint and Office 365 IT Pro and Administrators
- How to use SharePoint OnPremises and Online APIs from PowerShell
- PowerShell usage scenarios for both SharePoint OnPremises and Online
- Tools availble to execute PowerShell for SharePoint OnPremises and Online
Features Covered:
- SharePoint Online default cmdlets
- How to use Client Side Object Model and REST APIs from PowerShell
